In summer 2014 we ran a residential event lasting 6 days for 6 children in a converted barn in Somerset, the children came from a variety of home situations.
A fantastic time was had by all spending our time playing games, reading, chilling out having picnics in the garden, swimming, taking an amble around the local area and generally having a great time together and learning lots of new games, good habits and brushing up/developing our social skills.
Thanks to the goodwill of local residents and businesses we all benefitted from the daily use of a large heated outdoor swimming pool, lovely free range roast chicken and Spaghetti Bolognaise, a great morning out visiting the local cheese factory with goodies to take away for our own cheese board, and an amazing last evening meal out at a local top notch eatery.
Many thanks on behalf of the children go to:
Phil from Bill the Butchers in Bruton
Kit, Tom and the Team at Westcombe Cheese
Cath and her team at ‘The Chapel’ in Bruton
And lastly but by no means least Mr and Mrs Russell (and Colin and Sheena) at Batcombe House for the loan of their magnificent swimming pool.
